SURGERY

Cosmetic surgery is known for a person who choose to have an operation, or invasive medical procedure, in order to change their physical appearance for cosmetic rather than medical reasons.
In addition, there are non-surgical cosmetic procedures like threadlifting, Botox, and dermal fillers that are often used to improve and lift the face and lessen the appearance of jowls, hollow cheeks, and dark bags under the eyes. This method is recognised as non-surgical since it requires little recovery time, unlike plastic surgery, which takes a lengthy time.
What is Cosmetic Surgery?

Cosmetic Surgery Origins in Ancient India
As medicine in Eastern nations rapidly adopted aesthetic surgery, physicians in India were creating the first skin transplant techniques in the early years of 800 B.C. However, there have been numerous documented instances of reconstructive surgery in different regions of the world.

However, the methods were initially created in India before being exported to the West, where they were subsequently modified and improved.

Aulus Cornelius Celsus, a Roman physician, described some of the oldest known surgical techniques for restoring facial characteristics like the ears, nose, and lips in his book De Medicina.

Another physician by the name of Oribasius wrote the Synagogue Medicae, one of the first medical encyclopaedias, during the Byzantine era. This work included chapters on reconstructing facial features.

Cosmetic Surgery: Where It All Began
The majority of people in today's culture typically have a few aspects of their appearance that they don't like or would change. They are fascinated with their appearance, but they are preoccupied in a negative way—they believe that they are ugly, deformed, misshapen, or awful. Body dysmorphic disorder is frequently the root cause of this severe insecurity.

The woman decided to get the surgery as a result of her low self-esteem, lack of life fulfilment, and low opinion of her own appearance. Cosmetic surgery was once considered “one of the world’s oldest healing arts". Since then, additional information regarding plastic surgery education, practises, and techniques have been discovered by doctors, resulting in the development of the modern plastic surgery industry.

However, with the proliferation of social media, filters, and other photo-editing tools, there is growing concern among younger women about an obsession with unrealistic beauty ideals. Plastic surgeons must be aware of this when evaluating and treating this demographic.
